  6. Peter Sutcliffe was known as the Yorkshire Ripper. Over a period of five years,  his first attack was on 5 July 1975, to his arrest on 2 January 1981, he brutally attacked twenty woman. 
  7. 13 of his victims died from their savage treatment. Sutcliffe taunted the police in letters by signing them Jack the Ripper. On 22 May 1981, Sutcliffe was sentenced to life imprisonment at the Old Bailey. The judge  recommended that he should serve a minimum of 30 years.
